A life of faith takes practice.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Husband. Father.
Lawyer.
Still learning.

I'm a business lawyer, author, and speaker in Richmond, Virginia, where I live with my wife, Lauren, and our four boys. I practice business law at Avodah Legal, alongside writing books and speaking about the habits that shape our lives.

Parenting, friendship, work, faith. All of it happens in the same life, usually on the same very full day. That's where my writing begins: with the question of how we learn to love God and the people right in front of us.

I'm glad you're here.

A PRACTICE TO TAKE WITH YOU

Start with the
words you
say tonight.

Bedtime can be a lot. One more question. One more drink of water. One more reason to get out of bed.

A blessing gives us a few words to return to. A small rhythm of love at the end of the day, even when the day has been hard.

Intentional Fatherhood

WITH BROOK MOSSER AND JUSTIN WHITMEL EARLEY

Fatherhood brings a lot of questions into the same room. How do we love our families well? What do we do with our failures? How do work, friendship, and faith fit into it all?

Brook and I talk about the habits and hopes of being a father, and the ways God forms us as we raise our children.

SPEAKING

I speak with churches, schools, and organizations about habits, family life, friendship, and the ways our everyday practices form us.

If these are conversations your community is having, I'd love to hear what you're planning.
